August 23, 2012 -Meeting Minutes


·   
·         Meeting called to order at 12:10pm.
·         Puente hosting Mexican Independence day in the quad along with the Young Democrats and the League of Women.
·         Club members did a meet and greet.
·         Juan gave an ICC update
·         Discussed open officer positions and their descriptions.

·         Voted on 2 new Event Coordinators

·         Discussed a $3 membership fee for those who wish to be voting members.

·         Hangout day mentioned
·         $100 donation to be added to scholarship fund

·         Family Fest will be on Saturday, September 29th from 11am-3pm.

B.  Will be discussed at the next meeting, 08/30/12.
·         Alicia announced that Fresno City College will be doing a reading of Prop 8 at 7:30pm on August 25, 2012.
·         Club T-Shirts are available for $15.

Minutes April 14, 2012



  •          12:10 Meeting called to order. Mundo is out sick so Andre will stand in for him.
  •          Motion to approve last meetings minutes: Gene motion to approve and Manuel seconds.
  •          Asian Pacific Islander day: Going to have candy that will be donated by club members. Alicia will be posting famous Asian Pacific people who were or are part of LGBT. Will be giving candy out no charge.·         3 people are signed up for San Fran. Need at least 6 so forms need to be turned in by April 19. No latter with $20 Deposit.
  •         Chick Fil-A: Mundo wants to make posters… Anyone who can help meet in Library on Tuesday at 12.
  •          Juan will be running for position in ICC. Good Luck Juan
  •         April 19th is Asian Islander Pacific day (Reminder)
  •        Today is the Who’s Who reception
  •          $1,000 Scholarship. Write something get it published. Newspaper, magazine, ect. Please see Alicia if you would like more information.       In addition to that Lions Club will have a scholarship as well details with Alicia.
  •          MAY 17th FINAL MEETING DATE!!!! We will have a pot luck to end a wonderful semester…
  •      Next meeting we need to go over reimbursements for members who have purchased items..

March 15, 2012 Meeting Minutes

  •        Mundo called meeting to order at 12:10pm
  •        Heads up Graduation deadline today 3/15!!!!!
  •        Overview of minutes from 3/8/2012, Minute approval by Juan and Ben seconds.
  •   Panel for Human Sexuality sign-ups. Highly recommended for those who have never done it, great fun experience.
  •        Sign-ups for work schedules for Tech-Prep. We will be selling Nachos and Horchata. (Possibly hot cheetos and cheese) Each item was voted on and will sell for $.50 per item. Example a bag of chips and cheese = $1.00 Individual items will be $.50 each.
  •        Club voted on approximately 50 bags of chips.
  •        We need crock pots for the cheese.
  •        Ben will look into local stores for donations J
  •        Can of nacho cheese will be donated by member J
  •        Juan and Manuel will bring the horchata J
  •        Next meeting does anyone have a container for the horchata to be served in??
  •        Movie night tonight room 133 Hospital Rock from 6-9pm.
  •        Trip to San Fran. Date possibly April 27th or May 4th.
  •        Alicia asked if the club would be willing to contribute $75.00 for admission to mueseum for San Fran. Trip. Donation of funds approved by Pleschaet, and seconded by Manuel and Juan.
  •        The cost will be a $20.00 donation to hold a seat and money will be returned on trip. Must be a COS registered student.
  •        Mundo mentioned a great book in the COS library, “Queer House”,  for those who don’t know Alicia has a collection of books in her office that are available to check out.
  •        Gailerd Swisegood also mentioned that if there is grafitti in the restrooms to please report it to him via email (gailerds@cos.edu) working on cleaning up campus we can all do our part.
  •        Possible involvement with Aspira foster care. Help with providing candy filled eggs for an Easter hunt.
  •        In other news Lisa Project is around the corner. Wonderful experience that everyone should take the time to stop and see.
  •       Next meeting go over GSA and talk to them about college.

Meeting Minutes for March 8, 2012

·        Meeting called to order at 12:08 pm by Mundo
·        Short intro of memebers
·        Pleschaet & Terri approve minutes from last week
·        Quick break to eat potluck food.
·        Went over reinbursement of cups. Alicia kindly donated funds back to club account. $8.75. BIG THANK YOU TO ALICIA FOR THAT! Ben and Pleschaet appove Alicia donated this to club.
·        Alert to all members about spam. Please change passwords to your accounts to avoid this. There are emails coming from Mudo and others that are not real. Please be catious with emails with subjects such as “I lost 30 lbs” ect.
·        ASB is having elections for next semester. IF anyone is running please let us know so we can support you.
·        SOUP DAY!!!! Thanks to everyone who helped and participated! We fed 450 people on campus and raised $145.20 for scholoarship funds.
·        BIG THANKS TO ANDRE FOR ALL HIS HARD WORK AND ALL THE MONTHS OF PLANNING!!! THANK YOU!
·        Game time 12:25pm.
·        Movie nightnext week movie title is “Too Wong Foo” Please come out and enjoy the movie with popcorn. If you are able to bring a snack great if not come out and have fun either way. Room 133 Hospital Rock @ 6pm.

12:05pm - Meeting Called to order.
Last weeks minutes approved motion to approve by Andre, Alissa and club.
Reymundo Presented new positions to club; Event coordinator and web-master. Rules and by laws described to club and reviewed. Unanimous club approval for new positions to be approved and entered in club by laws.
Alicia asked to mention to club a second order of shirts can be ordered in women sizes if demanded.
Reymundo presented a Power point presentation “A look back at our semester together”. This was a collaboration of pictures and videos taken throughout the semester of club events.
 12:30pm - Mr. Swisegood took over floor for club raffle, while members enjoyed potluck.
At this time Reymundo passed around “Thank You” Cards to have club members sign to be delivered.

12:05 - Meeting called to order.
            Motion to approve Meeting Minutes.
            1st Motion to approve by Andre Gomez, 2nd Approval Juan Moreno.
I.C.C. meeting cancelled on Tuesday November 15, 2011, No I.C.C Update to report. Next meeting Dec. 6th
Reymundo asked about how last week’s movie night went and collected feedback.
Mrs. Crumpler asked about bowls being used for soup drive was recommended to use soup cups. Mr. Swisegood asked to be informed of purchase.
Mr.Swisegood also informed Pride Club that Social Work Club will be providing chili, potatoe soup, and either cream of mushroom soup or chicken soup for soup drive.
Mrs. Crumpler offered to purchase supplies and soup with budget approved of $100. And to provide stove top burner. Reymundo & Andre offered to bring large soup pot.
It was suggested that donations collected to be donated to the Fresno Gay & Lesbian Center by Pride Club. If supplies are collected Reymundo Volunteered to get funds to center.
Mrs. Crumpler & Mr. Swisegood agreed to adjoin tables to have only one soup distribution area. To have students line up and choose soup of their liking, club agreed that students will only be served one bowl of any soup per student.
12:30 – Andre volunteered to be “Soup Drive” event coordinator. Thank you Andre.
            Pride Club agreed to continue “Soup Drive” every semester as our way of giving back.
           Benjamin mentioned M.E.Ch.A is collecting toys and blankets for their Toy drive if any student       would   like to donate.
           Juan described plans made to have club talk to local high school GSA (Gay, Straight Alliance) Clubs about C.O.S. Pride Club.
Reymundo asked advisors about mission statement and by laws, is to obtain a copy of hand book from advisors.
Reymundo is to have new positions typed before end of semester for approval and entry into by-laws for new officer positions.
Patrick asked about club membership fees. Pride club currently does not have member fees, but is something to consider for next semester as a way of raising money for club.
T-shirts have been ordered and are expected to arrive with in 2 weeks. Club agreed to wear shirts one Thursday a month and on events.
Reymundo is to go to cashiers office for receipts or log of t-shirts purchased by students and money collected to be added into club account.

Club agreed to have potluck on Dec. 8th for last meeting; sign sheet was passed around for items being brought as well as a time sheet for soup drive event.
Elections for officers for spring semester 2012 will also be collected on that day. Reymundo to continue as President until first club meeting of spring semester 2012 until new positions have voted on.
